Moving Forward Group

Our experts by experience group were formed in 2018 and meet monthly at our Head Office in Stokesley.

This is what the members said about the Moving Forward Group –

• The group is important because its members are all supported by PIPS. We can share our thoughts and experiences to make positive changes.
• We are assisting people supported by PIPS to get the best support.
• Our work is important to help PIPS to keep getting better.
• It helps to make sure our voice is heard. This is very important when it is things that impact on our lives.

The group are an essential part of PIPS development; here are some examples of the work they have been involved in –

• Co-chaired PIPS Quality Meetings
• Staff training videos
• Presentation for Friendship training
• Talking to managers about what makes “great staff”
• Lots of work to encourage more people supported by PIPS to get involved in interviewing for new members of staff. Making some helpful Easy Read documents
• Co-production presentation for the annual Driving Up Quality Day
• Production of content for a quarterly newsletter for staff and the people we support

Managers and members of the group also attend the annual Learning Disability England Conference together.
